The goal of our project is to teach kids how to plant and tend to different flowers. We also want to create a sense of ownership in their community and neighborhood. The plan is to paint two different benches with a specific theme of community pride that the kids are still deciding on. We’re going to plant flowers and install the benches during Global Youth Service Day. By teaching the kids gardening techniques and giving them their own area outside of the school, we’re encouraging them to spend more time outside and take part in helping the environment.
