Schmidt Park- Unite

4-H Youth from the La Cruz community in St. Cloud, MN will be working on a semester-long project to restore and beautify Schmidt Park. This will include helping landscape the park, plant community gardens, and start art-in-the-park. Starting in February, the 4-H youth will meet every Monday from 4-5pm to learn about what has been done to the park they adopted a year or so ago. They will provide feedback to the U of M Master Gardener's plan for the landscaping as well as plan art projects for the park. The will learn about nutrition from the county nutrition educator to help them plan appropriate vegetables to plant in their portion of the community garden.

They will help clean up Schmidt Park on April 6th from 4-5pm (raindate April 13th from 4-5pm).
On April 25th from 1-4pm, the youth will help plant their portion of the community garden as well as work on any landscaping that needs to be done.

On-going projects will continue to maintain the gardens and create art-in-the-park events.
