Grand Opening: Light Way Organic Garden

Our event will mark the opening of a garden that will provide the community with fresh, organic food grown sustainably and sold by "pick "n" pay" and at Farmer's markets. The food will also be used to feed lunch to the children at our school starting in September. www.LightWaySchools.org

On April 25th, youth from our "A Dream of a Better World" Saturday program, the Cy-Woods High School Key Club, adults, and community leaders will gather to pick food from the garden and donate a portion of it to a local seniors assisted living center.
Youth from our Saturday program will also present information on pesticides, organic produce and which fruits and vegetables you MUST buy organic.

Throughout the spring semester youth and adult volunteers will gather to plan and build the garden on Saturdays from 1:30 - 3:30. You may join us by calling the number below.

Day-of Information: 
Bring gardening gloves, extra drinking water, and if you have one bring a shovel or a rake. Directions: Take 610 N to 610 E. Go past 45 and 59. Exit Homestead. Go left on Homestead. Go to Jay Street. Take a right. Go up past two stop signs. The road ends. Park on the side of the road and someone will be there to greet you. The gate will be open. 281 630 6055 or 713 401 8830 - just in case. In case Jay street is full, please park in neighboring streets but do not block drive ways. Thanks.
