Ready to make a difference? Then you've come to the right place! Global Youth Service Day is the largest service event in the world, and the only day dedicated to celebrating the power of young people. It's a time when young people and their adult mentors plan community activities, volunteer projects, and celebration events to recognize the important work that young people are doing year-round. This year, Global Youth Service Day is April 11-13, 2014.

How can I participate?

Whether you are a child, teen, or adult mentor, whether you live in America, Armenia, or Abu Dhabi, there are SO many ways you can participate in Global Youth Service Day. You'll be joining a community of young people in 135 countries and all 50 states who are celebrating Global Youth Service Day. Get started in three easy steps:

  1. Plan a Global Youth Service Day activity - it can be big, small, or somewhere in between. Check out these volunteer ideas, celebration ideas, resources, and inspiring stories to help you get started.
  2. Make your project count by registering on the GYSD Map. You'll be eligible for the latest news, info, and tips, plus you can use the Map to recruit others to join your project.
  3. Spread the word! Let others know how they can join your activity, and how they can help. Use our posters, social media messages, and other hints and tips to help you tell your GYSD story.
