For GYSD, CASE plans to engage at least 10 after-school programs in three school-based rejuvenation projects during scheduled after-school program hours (typically between the hours of 3pm and 6pm). Youth, in addition to community volunteers will work to beautify their school campus by completing various projects such as: murals throughout the school; creating an outdoor reading garden; enhancing the curb appeal of the school with mulch; and creating illustrative signage by students. In addition to beautification activities, students will work to create a culture of recycling at the school by creating paper recycling bins for classrooms and paper/plastic and aluminum recycling bins for the common areas (i.e. cafeteria, library, hallways).
